Focus and Scope

The Journal of Teaching and Education for Scholars (JOTES) is a biannual, double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Yayasan Cendekiawan Indonesia Timur, located in Watampone, Indonesia. Officially issued twice a year (May and November), JOTES provides a robust platform for global scholars, practitioners, and researchers to disseminate significant advancements in educational practices.

JOTES focuses on publishing high-quality, rigorously reviewed manuscripts that contribute fundamentally to the theoretical and practical aspects of education. The broad scope of the journal encompasses, but is not strictly limited to:

  • Innovative teaching approaches, models, and learning strategies.

  • Educational technology and digital learning environments.

  • Curriculum development and educational policy.

  • Classroom action research and pedagogical practices.

  • Assessment and evaluation in education.

Types of Accepted Articles: To maintain the highest academic standards and scientific rigor, JOTES exclusively accepts manuscripts in the following forms:

  1. Original Research Articles: Empirical studies based on primary data collection (quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, or classroom action research). These articles must demonstrate a clear methodology, robust data analysis, and significant novel findings relevant to the field of education.

  2. Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR) and Meta-Analyses: Comprehensive, protocol-driven reviews that systematically identify, evaluate, and synthesize existing literature on a specific educational topic. SLR submissions must strictly follow recognized frameworks (such as PRISMA) and provide a critical gap analysis that sets the agenda for future research. (Note: Traditional, non-systematic literature reviews or conceptual opinion papers are no longer considered for publication).
